There are some good references in the "Stickies" at the top of the Incubating & Hatching Eggs forum.

Gary--

the gist is to adjust the humidity so that the egg looses about 15% of its weight at lockdown. I have better luck getting a big correct air cell when I don't add water to my LG. Many factors play into this: incubator, styro or wood, fan or fans, etc. So get a strong LED flashlight and candle those eggs and compare it to a good diagram-- I kept one taped on the wall while I candled.

THe chick needs to be dry enough that it is small enough to turn in the shell to zip. A chick bloated with extra moisture cannot do that.

Make sense?
