Morning lovelies!

I am. Currently incubating 5 bantam eggs, we are on day 16 and things are well so far. However, the humidity in the incubator seems to keep rising?! I emptied the water bit by bit until there is now no water in it, and yet it's still reading 74%! I bought the thermometer separately so it's not with the incubator but we tested it out a fair few times before we started to make sure it worked properly. There's condensation in the incubator sides. What should I do?

Thank you in advance for any help and advice :)

does the incubator say the same thing i just got down incubating some chicken eggs and four hatched im gonna be starting again today i did not buy a thermometer to go in the incubator i just trusted what the incubator told me but im not an expert good luck with your hatch

Ha, just realised this thread has posted twice! Yeah my incubator doesn't have a humidity thermo, so bought one to make sure I got it right as the instructions for the incubator were rubbish and not really clear. But that's great you managed to hatch some without a humidity thermo! That gives me confidence!!

I've never hatched using a humidity thermo, too likely it'll get the humidity wrong, thus compromising your hatch. I also only used the thermometer that was built into the incubator. Two batches of coturnix quail, one batch of buttons, uncountable chickens and uncountable ducks. I just went with my gut, and the hatches were normally over 80%.

Here's a few of my little babies so far! Hatches were straightforward and bang on 21 days! Got one of my last batch due today which has pipped in the last couple hours so not long til they're all together!

Your chicks are so cute my baby likes to sit on my fingers she is almost three weeks old I have nine in the incubator now it is day seven View attachment 1260278

Aww she is sooo cute! I love how they have a little character at such a young age. It was one of the best things I have ever witnessed in watching them hatch! At what age can you tell if they're male or female? And how do you sex them? At the moment we seem to be referring to them as fluff butts!
