I have a farm innovators pro model circulated air incubator. My problem is if I put any amount of water in it my humidity stays between 70-80. It stays around 40-50 bone dry. I have 70 contour nix eggs in it and am worried my hatch is going to be terrible to none exist ant. Do I have to have water in it. Before the eggs were added I could keep it around 50 with a little water. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

try adding only a little water in only one of the water pools on the bottom. and remove air plugs (one or two depending on humidity).

Take out both vent plugs. Don't add any water until day 18. Then add a small glass of water to get your humidity up to around 65%. I have that same incubator and never have the vent plugs in. When you are trying to increase the humidity, you can cover part of the glass with tinfoil if it gets too high. Surface area and not depth of the water will determine the humidity. Also, do not trust the thermometer or hygrometer on the unit itself. Buy a digital unit that goes inside the incubator and use it. Some people use several thermometers.

Thanks. I removed plugs, didn't do the trick. Dried up all the water and it settled back to 45-50. Must be the humidity here is adequate enough. Guess I will run it dry until lockdown. Thanks again for taking time to respond.

I bought a second one and they both read the same. It's holding around 40-45 with no water.
