This is my first time hatching eggs so I'm still getting used to all this. I left the thermometer/hygrometer steady in the room I'm going to be hatching in for a few days. It was constantly from 60-70% humidity. But I read on here that in the incubator the humidity is supposed to be 50%. People on here seem to always have a problem keeping the humidity up in their bator but I need it to go down???

I'm struggling keeping my humidity down as well. I can't figure it out. My first try at hatching they made it all they was through and never hatched fully formed in shell. So upsetting! I read it was due to humidity levels being too high in the beginning. Now I'm trying again. They are halfway through development and forming so I'm hoping this hatch is better. I barely fill the first tunnel with water in my genesis 1588. Also my temp was off on this unit which I had to reset the factory settings. It's been a nightmare. I also have a couple of eggs in a brinsea mini which is so much easier. Set it and forget it. If this hatch doesn't work out I'm selling the hovabator and getting another brinsea. Good luck to you. Keep us posted!
