It is going to rain for 2 days in a row! 2 days after that supposed to be sunny and then I think 2 days after that rain again! At first I was afraid it would make the lights go out. I hope that doesn't happen but if it did what should I do! But also it is probably going to make the humidity go high. I am hatching duck eggs so the humidity is supposed to be higher. It was around 63% Today it went to 70% which I guess is still ok because some people use humidity at 86% and 70% but what if the humidity goes too much higher!? It is the third week and I want them to hatch. I don't want it to get messed up from the weather!

Ms.FuzzyButts :

Outside humidity should not have that much of an effect on your incubator.

If the window is kinda fogged up is the humidity too high and the humidity right now is around 67%.

Humidity shouldn't be a worry for you... But... the power going out is another story. Look on ebay and find you a "Power Inverter" there are several wattages available... you would want one that is at least in the 800-1500 watt output range. Truck drivers are selling these things all the time! I know (I was a truckdriver) They plug into your cigarette lighter socket or hook directly to the battery in any car or truck. (I have 3 of these things, one huge one!) When storms are threatening, hook up your inverter to the car just in case... When POOF... the lights go out... fire up the car/truck run extension cord to bators/brooders/hatchers... all will be saved! My inverters have saved hundreds of dollars of developing hatching eggs! Power always seems to go out on day 20 when eggs are pipped and just before hatching... Hope this helps... Emale me with any questions... Wade
