This is my first hatch ever using an incubator. I bought the Brinsea Mini Advanced and even though I was advised to buy a hygrometer, I did not. I filled up only one of the water pots. How do I know when to refill it? Do I just need to constantly keep checking it for when it runs out or is there a set amount of time that water usually evaporates by? Thanks.

You'll either need to wing it and hope for the best or go and get a hygrometer. The relative humidity in your house will affect the humidity inside the incubator...

Okay well I have seen people post and say that they hatched just fine with this incubator without a hygrometer and I was just wondering how they go about refilling it.

When I first got my incubator (a still air LG) I didn't have a hygrometer. I couldn't wait either, so I just kept the water rings filled and then used a small pot with a sponge to up the humidity at lockdown. My eggs hatched OK, but my hatch rates got MUCH better when I got a hygrometer. Good luck!

Every house will be different. just go get a hydrometer small enough to fit in your incubator, calibrate it, and keep an eye on it. It will be MUCH less stressfull.
