Hummingbirds, and other birds.

They are crazy this year! Every year I have one or two that hang around the feeder right outside my computer window. This year, its 5 or 6. They are out there all the time. I have the window open, so I hear zoooom, zooooom, zooooom, as they argue at the feeder and run each other off. And of course, my good camera croaked, and I cant get another one for a while, so Im missing some great photo ops.

Out my other window, I had bluebirds fledge already this year. Had a bad year last year, lost a couple of batches, probably to snakes. Ive cleaned up around the house, and havent seen any snakes this year, and got the first batch of blues off and running. I can spend hours just watching these guys.

Loved going to my grandma's in Md. where we would see lots of hummingbirds on our summer visits.

I had one hummingbird years back come up to me and zoom off one summer and I've yet to figure out really what it was...it seemed kind of purple. I'm so used to the green ones.

Last year we had a hummingbird feeder right outside my office window, about 4 feet from where I sit. I kept a camera handy and got a number of good shots.
This year we moved the feeder to the back yard, but I might bring it back.
