my baby egbert eats and eats. i make tubs full of fresh salad stuff and he eats everything in sight. He only eats s small amount of his starter food. he pigs out on the salad stuff. could he be missing protein from his diet. He's only just under a week old. When do they start liking baths.

He needs grit too so he can process the salad stuff, I can't say if he needs more protein, since geese are grazers maybe someone else will weigh in on that question. My only gosling I've had was with the flock so I never worried if he was not getting enough of something. Mama took care of it.

Bath time anytime now, warm water out of drafts, stay right with him and when he is through playing pat dry and put him in a warm place to finish drying,. and where's the pics?

My geese prefer fresh grass/greens over all other food - even the chick starter/flock raiser. They will snack on the chick starter but eat grass constantly. I think about 90% of their diet is greens, and the goslings eat an incredible amount. We've watched our goslings fall asleep eating grass, wake up a few minutes later, and start eating immediately! So I'd say Egbert is doing great! It is when they don't eat anything that there is things to worry about . If they get too much protein that can cause problems later on, so keep chopping salad! : )
