I woke up this morning to go doctor on Turd, my 6 mo old EE roo (he fought the turkey and the turkey won). As I was walking down the back steps I noticed 3 feathers that were particularly long. I picked them up and noticed a green sheen on them, unlike any of my other babies, I knew they belonged to a Turd tail.
I turn my head to the temp hospital I had Turd caged in, only to find it turned over, door open and cage empty. And if thats not bad enough, I had a silkie in a cage next to Turd. There were white silkie feathers everwhere and one bloody silkie roo. I took him inside and cleaned him up. I had to give him a hair cut to really asses the wound, but his throat has been slashed open down to the muscle.
At first my husband didnt that a possum could carry off a full grown rooster, but I found a trail of feathers leading into the woods.
Wonder what the best way to prepare a possum would be...
