Hurricane Harvey

We had wild fires all around us last fall very scary days of smoke none ever made it into our county but I did get crates and other things ready to move my 40 something animals out if needed. I have xlarge large and med and small dog crates I still have an over night bag packed and household items in large plastic containers. Ready to go.

I was just wondering the same thing, I have been working this afternoon on getting my chickens all in for shelter. They are all in the big coop and it's high off the ground so rain will flow under the coop. I was worried about them being in the run and no shelter except for a roof since we have no idea what to expect

Make sure whatever support is lifting your coop off the ground won't get washed out!

Here in Louisiana we are expecting heavy rain, but luckily we only have two ducks so they can stay inside with us if needed. This is our first experience with hurricanes, we weren't here for Katrina but it was also a category 3- heading to a different state but within 9 hours it changed course to New Orleans! Hopefully Harvey doesn't steer off towards us too :fl, but if it does I think we're loading up our dogs, ducks, and mice and heading to Arkansas. Even if the rain gets too bad we might leave, the pumps don't seem too reliable right now.
