HELP!!

Hey y’all! I’m in a bit of a tizzy- I’m frantically trying to get my home & Family prepared for hurricane Florence; whom is currently heading straight for us. If you haven’t heard- Thursday a Cat 4, maybe a Cat 5 hurricane is going to hit SC, NC, & VIR. I’m in Lumberton, NC right in the crosshairs. :(

With that being said... what should I do with my ducks? We have an old tobacco barn that has been standing for YEARS, that I usually put them in if we get a windy/rainy storm- however, I’m a little hesitate to put them in there during such a high CAT storm? Idk what to do? What would y’all do? My mother-in-law actually has a “storm shed” but my brother-in-law is putting his dog in there. Should I put them in a kennel & put them there? What should I do guys? I’m very worried about them! I’m VERY worried ingeneral! This storm isn’t a joke- it’s going to be catostrophic. Those of you who pray- please my for us. Those of you who are also preparing for it- you are in my prayers as well.

Any advice will help! Thanks.

Go to the NC forum at “where am I where are you “look up NC lots of talk right now about what others are doing to get themselves and their birds ready. Do you have a basement unfinished you could section off to keep them in for safety ?that would be my first rec commendation I don’t think i’d Put them in close quarters with a dog unless the dog is going to be crated too but how would you keep feed and water for them unless it was a huge crate. We are in the mountains here in NC we are praying for all of you who are going to get the brunt of this hurricane :hugs

Thanks y’all. So the kennel thing is a no go. I don’t want them to be that confined. I don’t have a basement- we’re actually going to stay across the field at my grandmas... but here is the plan for my lovebirds—-

I have them a confined space in the tobacco barn. They have their house & lots of hay. I figured that barn has been there for 60 years- it’s probably my best bet. It’s built very well obviously. I’ll post a picture of the set up tomorrow. So I’m going to put them in three & hope for the best case scenario! I think it will be fine- I hope it will be!

Y’all please continue to pray for us all!

Also @Raenh i am with you! They are my babies! I’m gonna do all I can for them!

Here is the barn & the setup. Minus the chicken wire I’m going to put up to keep them confined to that corner.
