Hurricane Preparation

UPDATE: It's 3:55 am, and so far, we still have power - Yay! The storm has been downgraded to a Category 3, and is staying off-shore. It's still dangerous, but not quite as severe. Right now, the storm is right off the coast of Brevard County, about 55 miles SE of Titusville, and may make landfall at Cape Canaveral around 8:00 a.m. So far, so good.

Good Morning - glad y'all are still ok. Don't know why but kept waking up for the past 2 hours so got up for coffee and to check on you.
Bet you have been up all night

Looks like the worst will be coming around 8 or so when it reaches the cape and Cocoa? Heard the power outages down the coast are less than expected, so keeping fingers crossed that yours stays on.

My niece lives at Cocoa Beach, hope she did evacuate, but bet she's having a hurricane party:(

Good morning, Flock Master! One of my friends on Facebook lives in Cocoa Beach and didn't evacuate. She let us know that she and her family are okay. Hopefully, your niece lives in a block home if she stayed.

Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts last night. I actually slept pretty well - Woke up periodically - but it's actually still pretty bad out right now. We're still getting rain and winds around 39 mph with 59 mph gusts. My back yard looks like we got a storm in the middle of having tree work done, LOL! I'll take a few pictures when it's safe to go out there. The sheds and coop are still there - When the winds stop (should be okay in another five or six hours), I want to see how much water got inside so I can make it better for the odd storm.

The girls are still not happy about being in the garage.....spoiled, little things! I'm sure they'd have liked being in that coop a whole lot more! It's actually covered in downed branches from my big camphor tree! Yikes!

Hi, y'all! We're kind of internet and cable challenged right now, but we still have power, and today, sunshine!!

I have Mount Deadfall in my driveway from all the limbs the were blown down, but the girls are happily back in their coop.

I'll write more when I can. Know we're all well and happy!

Four - 2 BRs and 2 RIRs. LOL,they are 9 weeks old now. LOL,the RIRs like their comes rubbed - must itch a little when growing!

I just wanted to let everyone know that all is well here. My cable and internet just came back up and almost everyone in my area has power now. Sunflour - I just found out that the hurricane has effected some parts of Georgia - I am praying that you and yours are all okay.

Last night we had an overnight guest - one of our friends had to go out of town and his 72 year old partner and their dog, Tuxedo, needed to stay with someone he was comfortable with. Tux is my "grandpuppies" - brother to two of my dogs, and we still have 15 year old "daddy dog," Dweezle. Sadly, we lost Momma dog to pancreatic cancer last May. It's always like a holiday whenever these guys come over - Tuxedo loves his "Nana"! He certainly doesn't love the girls, though - Silly dog stuck his nose right up against the hardware cloth in the run and 'BOINK" - One of the BR's got him right on his nose!

My day was spent raking up debris - Six more bags today! The girls got to spend the day in their flip-coop. They had a ball foraging and taking dirt baths!

Well, this old lady is tired, and has a bunch more raking and bagging to do tomorrow. I'm headed for a hot bath!
