This is my first time posting and a new chicken owner. We have 6- 9 week old girls. Yesterday, one of them turned up lame. She can't stand up straigt and her right leg looks turned out on a 90 degree angle. Also a couple of her toes on both legs can't straichten. Needless to say she's hobbling around. Has anyone had this experience? Any suggestions about what might have happened and what we should do.

Post a picture for us. Sounds like it may be perosis. There is physical therapy you can do to try and get the tendon back over. Surgery is also an option. It cost me $50 to have a chick's leg fixed.
Does it look like this?

This is the chick (We named her "Crash" because she would fall down a lot) after surgery.

Those pics were taken about a month ago. She's not 100%, but her quality of life is much better.

Yes it does look like that. However it hasn't always been like that. It just started a couple days ago. I'll try to get a pic today or tomorrow and post it. What is the physical therapy to do?

Thanks so much for your reply
