I have a Rhonde Island Red who is limping. Nothing appears broken, no torn nails, she is limping or hopping and she covers her leg with her wing when she lays down. Any thoughts?

Hopefully it's just hurt. When I introduced my girls to a new coop, one hurt her wing by flying up to a roost and smacking into it. I was really worried, since she was holding it funny. But the next day, she was fine.

I would keep an eye on her and maybe spoil her with room service so to speak, I hope

it's just a sprained ankle or something like that. Keep us posted.

I'm having a similar issue with one of my hens. Started limping but nothing seems to be broken. I've moved her into the house where it's air conditioned (it's 90 here today) put her on a pillow with her food and water close by. I let her sit in the yard during the day under a tree and she seem completely content. She's eating, drinking, laying eggs etc. so I'm hoping it's some sort of sprain and she'll recover soon. Otherwise this pampered little hen is going to have to get a wheelchair because I can only keep this up for so long.
