I went to Atwoods intending to buy one baby turkey but instead came home with one healthy and one hurt turkey. I just couldn't leave the hurt turkey in the tank getting trampled to death. The first night I thought it had a splayed/spraddled leg and I made hobbles for it. The turkey will not put any weight on the leg, it will try to hop around on the other leg. I want to "cure" it if I can and that was my intention in bringing it home in the first place. The next morning I realized that the leg is not just a spraddled leg, the joint right below where it's feathers start (knee) is inflamed and the hurt leg is slightly darker then the other one. The foot on that leg is also slightly fisted, I have seen two of the toes on that foot move twice. It hops around unbalanced with the leg pulled up close to it's body.

I stayed up for hours trying to figure out what to do. I have moved the leg slowly back and forth- hearing if it is a tendon it might pop back in place. I read in one forum to crush B-12 and sprinkle it in the water and food. I have tried both and now the poor thing's hurt leg shakes. Am I at the end of my rope with it? Is it time to put it down or is there some way I can help it?

I appreciate any replies
