I asked about buying a shed to turn it into a chicken coop. Cheapest was a junky
looking thing at $800.00.

He asked the guy who did the roof on the barn what he thought about building a
8x8 leanto style coop off the goat shelter. They wandered around and looked over all the
2x4's, 2x8's, plywood, etc. that I take when it's free and decided they had enough to
start with last night.
It's already 1/2 done with what we had around.

I mentioned the windows hubby had
stashed in the barn. "What windows?" They have been there for 8 years lol!
There will be a nice screened in storm window for the back to let in air and light.

He remembered a glass front display box and the framed glass front will be a window in
front on the right of the door.

Which means room for more hens..........

Your husband is like mine - one in a million. He finished my little backyard coop (well almost finished) last week and yesterday drove me to a farm over 3 hours away to get my chicks (my first!). We used mainly recycled wood and the window was an old transom that's been in our garage since before we bought the house 27 years ago.

He is 1 in two million! How did he spend his Sunday?

Fixing my coops so the critters couldn't get in-he had to
put wire across the bottom of the run so the skunk couldn't dig under-
Put wire up on the front window of the new coop behind the window in front.
Closed off the rest of the new coop so there would be no draft.

And put in a cat door to the barn for the cats.
