how long will a duck lay eggs? wil they stop after a couple of years like a chicken?

Mine are still going strong and they will be 3 this spring. I have a friend who has had them for many years and hers lay good for about 3 years before they slow up too much (shes in to ducks to sell the eggs). As I understand it they will continue laying in the summer and spring for many years but the yearly egg count will go down over time.

I borrowed an eight year old Welsh Harlequin hen one summer who was laying about three to five eggs a week. Her laying season was shorter than the other hens of course. I have heard some of the hybrids who lay most heavily all year do peter out after four years or so,
