Hyline breed

All the commercial layers are top notch layers. The 300+ egg per pullet year lay is pretty much the industry standard. Lots of poultry genetics companies compete for that market. Hyline isn't the only one, although they have top producing layers. Many other do as well.

While researching info on the Boris Brown Breed, i found out that they are also called the Hyline Brown. So, if anyone else is looking for the Boris Brown, they might be able to find this post. I ordered 4 Boris Brown from a Japanese breeder, here in Matsumoto, Japan.

Hyline now has the silver browns, which lay 330 eggs per year outlaying anything they have(white leghorns and hyline browns)

Do they come with all the issues 'hybrid' egg layers have, i.e. Red SexLinks? My work provides these free to employees as a development program. But, I don't really want more SexLink anythings...just had nothing but issues with my girls.

I would image that they do. The birds in egg laying operations are culled before they are 2 years old. Black Sex Links are good layers but they don’t have the problems of Red Sex Links as they lay slightly less eggs.

Ah ok, never had the opportunity to have the Black Link variety, just the Reds. They are just pets to me as a mentioned so not too concerned about egg quantity. I'd just love consistency and health. Thanks!
