Hello,

This morning I noticed that one of our two goslings was flailing around in its cage like it was having a seizure. I originally assumed he was choking since he was acting just fine this morning, but I couldn't find anything lodged in his throat. He died after about 10-20 minutes, and I'm wondering if it had to do something with low blood sugar. Our other baby goose was acting a bit weird (walking clumsily, sitting down for long amounts of time, sort of 'drunk'), but I put sugar and probiotics in her water and she's acting just fine now. Any advice would be much appreciated about what happened to our goose. :( We grew very attached to him in the four weeks we had him. Thanks.

Hi, this problem comes up so many times, so many of us have experienced it. Why not put in the search "niacin deficiency" and see if the posts match what you´ve had happen. the sugar would have helped, but it probably does need niacin. Grass is so important, and romaine lettuce is high in niacing, but a great way of getting niacin (vit b3)into them is through Brewer´s Yeast,

I read bran flakes are also high in niacin and easy to find in the cereal aisle.
Yes, but my birds won´t eat it. I can understand that. It´s not as much fun as romaine lettuce and peas, after all!!

Thank you very much! I'll have to make a grocery trip this afternoon.
