Hypothermia ?

I have found the occasional bullied or sickly hen who has gotten stuck in a hiding place and could not get out. It is good that you found her in time, and I would continue to try and warm her, offer some sugar water or electrolytes, and mushy wet chicken feed and soft egg is very good to offer. Is her crop empty or full, hard or squishy? Is she pooping? Has she laid an egg recently?
She was the bullied one and I’ve tried to integrate her back into the flock, just like any others, and for some reason, they will not accept her. I’m hoping that when I get some new in the spring new friends. But even my sweetest chicken ever who I never thought I would see act like that has gone after her. It’s weird. So I’ve kept her in a while in a separated area, where she can see the others, but they can’t get to her.
So I don’t think she was hiding from anything or anybody I think she’s just a chicken and they get themselves in some peculiar situations I just wish I had known earlier in the day that she was in that situation because she obviously had to be stuck there for a while before the sun started going down and I went to get her and couldn’t even find her at first, I literally thought she was gone couldn’t figure it out so I saw one little feather sticking out and thought she was was killed And then my hand there and realize she was still warm. It’s a good way to have your heartbroken and healed at the same time I guess.lol

Hows your frozen girl doing??? I hope shes recovering and not suffering any. :hugs
Oh my. I’m sorry I couldn’t respond sooner. Winter weather calls for 12 hr overnight shifts (plus 1.5 to 2 hr commute at best each way) she was doing better then yesterday it’s like she gave up. She was regaining leg strength and all the sudden she just stopped trying her legs and just keeps flapping her wings randomly . She’s still eating and drinking though very little. I know she’s frustrated but I think she knows and I know there’s very little chance at this point she’ll recover :hmm

I was surprised she was alive when I found the poor girl. Just wish I knew more I could for her. She’s such a very sweet girl

I knew I was going to have to make a very hard decision when I got home from work today. But that tough lady made the decision for me.😢
I’m glad she’s not suffering, but she was such a sweet girl who had a rough girl in life in general as well
I hate winter
