I’ve had hens for about 2 years and currently have 14 hens and 2 roosters. I’ve Noticed one of my older hens has not been eating well and stays away from the others. She had a lot of dry poop which I’ve cleaned up for her. Her vent look clean. But she winces when I stroke her towards her back side. Any idea what this might be?

Isolate her from the others. Give her pumpkin pie filling to see if she impoves droppings. Hydrated with Gatorade. If that doesn't change she could be hen pecked try reading to her and music. Is she still laying? If she winces she may have a clutch of eggs coming. She is being broody. Next, make sure she eats but sitting hens don't eat or drink so look for her nest. If it's not constipation or eggs production, last give a tiny amount of peptobismal. Not the new formula the old one without extra strength. I think she's normal and not sick, but it can't hurt to try if it's a digestive issue. Good luck.
