Do you house the drakes separately from your chicken hens? I don't know if you are aware of this but if a drake mates a chicken hen he can kill her.

All the ducks are in the side yard and the chickens are in the back yard with 2 fences between them. I did not know so I appreciate you telling me.

Welcome Momma sorry about divorce, but ironic you ended up with chickens after all! I agree it is very calming to hang and watch them. The pond is awesome what a great job you did! I'm so glad you joined this is a great community.
