I am a new member!

My husband and I are new at chicken keeping, but we love it so far. We got 8 hens at the end of May. They were 12 weeks old at that time. They started laying in August, my husband thinks it's because I talk to them daily like babies LOL. I got on the pc to find info on molting because my Speckled Sussex was going bald and I was afraid she was being pecked on the head! She was one of the friendliest and most trusting of the girls when I got them, and lately with the molting she seems to be very skiddish and nervous around me. I think the higher on the pecking order are picking on her right now. We do have peepers on the ones that peck, but they have acclamated to them pretty well.....
