My mother in law is dead set on me hatching some of her duck eggs for her. After my loss off all my chicken eggs I am not sure its a good idea, but I guess I will give it a try. I was going to put a fan in the bator but read that its better to have still air to help keep the humidity up since I am in a dry climate. Anyhow my hubby is bringing the eggs home this evening and then they will go into the bator. Gonna be a long 35 days or so, lol.

35 days? Ducks take 28 to 30 days. I just hatched 3 different breeds from 3 different breeders that pipped on day 25 and hatched on day 27. Be ready! Good luck with your hatch.

I set my first duck eggs right after i was done with my chicks. I kept the humidity at 45-50% the entire time and also added in a fan. Right now I have my first one hatching a day before lock down lol Guess the temp was a little higher than it was reading.

I kept the rings filled with water and a sponge under the wire to keep up the moisture.
http://www.ustream.tv/channel/emmalion my first one hatching from the wrong end. I noticed it today when I was moving them into position for lock down so this pip was actually being blocked by the turner.

very cool cam, thanks for sharing! I just have to convince myself that I can do this, lol.
