I am getting ready to build my tractor,and I have a question about....

...how many nesting boxes will I need for 6 chickens?
Is 3 enough? Is 6 to many?

The rule of thumb is 1 nest for 4 hens. 2 will work fine for you.

For 6 chickens I wouldn't make more than 3 nest boxes. But don't be surprised if they all take turns laying in just one of the boxes. I had 11 hens in a tractor with 3 nest boxes and all 11 used one box. Sometimes there would be 2 or 3 in there at a time. But each day we would collect 9-11 eggs from one box.

I was planning on putting three boxes in,but I may just make two and make them each a bit bigger.
