I am new chicken raising. I need a lil help please!!!

Hi everyone. I was wondering if someone can tell me what is the best stuff to put down in the run for some 6 weeks old chicks

A lot of people say sand. I I've in Tennessee.I was wondering if I mix sand and DE. Would that hurt them since they r young

Very cute little chicks! Some people who like DE do use food grade DE it in the brooder/coop with chicks, DE is one of those things where some people swear by it, and some people don't think it is worth the trouble.

Do I use play sand.

Well you could use sand, dirt, shavings, and hay or straw . For young chicks I like to use shavings and hay or straw .

Do remember that chickens do like to take dirt baths so make put dirt in there .
