I am new to chickens....

My chicken is laying eggs in the middle of the day. Is that a good thing or a bad thing.

That's normal

Anywhere from early morning thru late evening... chickens lay ....

I always thought chickens always layed in the morning~~until last year when I got my first hens!! Mine lay all day till the late afternoon.

It's like getting surprises all day.

*Mine has usually laid by 11 a.m. BUT, she makes exceptions a few times a month.

Hi, one of my 8 girls just started laying. She's 5 months old. I thought hens lay in the morning too until she gave me an egg at 1:30pm today and then one at 8pm the other day! She is definitely not a morning hen...LOL! I use to have a hen that laid before the sun came up every day. I guess it just depends on there internal clocks. Good Luck!
