Just got my incubator and egg turner. I looked on Ebay and chose the dealer that had a ton of "fast delivery" comments. Well, it took 3 days! All I need now is a second thermometer with hygrometer. Karen

Karen, I got my first egg for you today from my Buff Brahma. The day before yesterday, Caroline laid a whopper egg that I candled because I suspected it had two yolks (those are highly unlikely to hatch) and it did, so that one was not one I could send. Yesterday, she didn't lay-heck, I would have taken a vacation myself after that humongous goose egg! Today, she's back to her normal self and should lay the rest of the week, meaning I should have five eggs to send you. Are you sure you don't want any others to try, like a Barred Rock or Ameraucana?

Wellllll, if you put one little Amercauna in there, I guess I could deal with that! Please tell Caroline I appreciate every egg she lays for me! Karen

Okay, got my bator set up, and its running, and I am stablizing the temp. I found a nice room that the sun doesn't hit .
I have a question, how does that disc work? The one you turn for temperature adjustment? I just can't figure out how it works, I'd just like to understand things better. Karen

It is filled with ether and I think it expands and contracts according to the setting, is that what you wanted to know? If you smell ether, it's blown. Try to find an extra wafer so if one ever goes out, you can replace it pronto.
