I am returning to the Backyard. I have owned chickens for years, just bought an incubator because of all the stuff going on, especially with chickens.

I want to hatch chicks for myself and others. I bought a 24S Automatic Mini Incubator, I have had issues but am trying to work through them. It candles all the eggs, turns the eggs every 2 hours and the temp has been ok, but the humidity alarm kept going off, and then I saw it was leaking on my table, I just put towels under it and got up 3 times a night to add water, (book said should be like every 4 days, lol). I didn't put many eggs in (it will hold 36) I put in 8, with all the trouble I had I didn't expect any to hatch but one did. So I know it WILL work.
I took it apart and the water tube was kinked badly. I straightened that out and it is keeping the humidity up without any intervention. BUT the day counter won't go back to 0, I came here and saw several people had the same issue but the solutions they used aren't working for me. (This is not a game changer by any means, I can count, but I do like for things that I buy to work as advertised).
They ran through the reset button twice and another held down the up and down buttons together for 5 seconds and that worked for them. Not for me. Anyone have any suggestions?
I joined when I first got my chickens about...I don't know 5 years ago, but didn't stay with it, I think I will be more faithful now. Just got 2 pigs and eyeing a pregnant mama goat and another little girl. Don't want them to be lonely. So I guess I am expanding my 3 acres to a small homestead. I have gardened for years, my husband is better at it than I.
I am a now retired registered nurse so I can handle any crisis except getting the day counter to go back to zero! Nice to meet everyone and will be looking to pick your brains on occasion. And will keep you up to date on my venture into hatching my own chicks. I do have a chicken sitting right now so if I fail, she won't. lol.
Peace and love,
Brenda

Welcome! I don't know anything about that exact incubator. If I were you I would use this app to keep track of the number of days instead of relying on the counter of your incubator...I've used it for years.

I also wouldn't trust the built-in temperature or humidity gauge on it and I would buy a separate humidity gauge to salt test.
