I Let them free today as I have been doing two to three times a day. I have a chair next to the coop to keep an eye on them and to watch them and not only did they follow me one flew onto my knee, twice. What fantastic bold little girls they are, hubby and I are in love. I have had my 3 silkies slightly longer (two weeks) and they dont even follow me and are scared if I walk past them lol
I just need to put another bit of chicken wire on my back hedge as not sure how safe it is and then they can be out longer (there coop has a small run) and dont they just love freedom. One chased a bee and think got stung as she yelped and when I went over there was a bee on the ground, hope she will be ok.
Anyway just wanted to share my story as not sure all my friends want to hear me constantly chatting chicken talk lol

Your chickens are beautiful. I'm so glad they are friendly that makes it a lot easier to get close to them. Keep an eye on the bee sting you might want to make sure the stinger isn't still in your chicken. The silkies will soon start getting closer to you. All of mine were friendly and loved to sit on laps. BYC is good for sharing your chicken stories we love looking at pics and hearing the stories. Thanks for sharing.

All of my silkies have passed away except for one roo. I still have chickens but the silkies is what I orginally started out with years ago. I now have buff orphingtons, isa browns, easter eggers, polish, barred rock, 1 mixed breed, bantam cochan
and of course the silkie roo. I love all my chickens they are a joy to have.

We also have a milliefleur in our bunch and she is my favorite. She is SO sweet, and climbs right up in my hand anytime I reach out to her. My two silkies are like yours, they're scared any time we go near them, but they sure are good for a laugh! We also have two buffs (who I LOVE), a leghorn, and two Ameracaunas. None of them have begun laying yet, but I enjoy them. Unfortunately we have to find a new home for all eight. My husband severely injured himself before he could finish building the run and coop (we had them in the brooder box at the time). My entire family is in love with these birds, and we are so sad over it, but what can we do? He'll be down for the count for a number of weeks still. Anyway, enjoy your girls--they're lovely!

Oh no how sad, hope you can re-home them with somebody you know so you can see them still or just to a family member untill your hubby is better?
