Today is day 7 of the incubation process for some serama eggs I ordered. I also set 4 from my own hen. I see movement in all of mine, but out of the 12 I received in the mail, only 2 have development so far. Do I give up on the other 10 or just wait and re-candle in a week? It breaks my heart--I was so excited. Does anyone out there ever have good luck with shipped serama eggs, and if so, what is the best time of year? Thanks.

It's always a crap shoot with shipped eggs.

In December I got 11 of 18 FBCM eggs to hatch and only 5 of 14 from another breeder. You never know.

I hope a miracle happens and both of the ones I ordered hatch. I was wondering if maybe the freezing temps during shipment might have been a factor. I couldn't have asked for the seller to package them any better, though. She did a really great job there.

We're on our first incubation too and since we don't have chickens yet, these are all shipped eggs. We set 16 and I think at least 6 are looking good. Maybe I'm missing something, but I was actually happy about that! I'm happy for one at this point. I had one that was obviously cracked and the rest I'm not sure about so I'm keeping them. Good luck with yours!

Thanks all. I will definitely post pics "when" they hatch. My lone serama hen decided to go broody a couple of days ago. I think she only has a couple of eggs, but she is soooo cute!! I put the very questionable eggs back in what I call the "Hallelujah Corner" of the incubator. Just keeping my fingers crossed.

Don't toss them yet. And where in NC are you? If your close enough and this batch doesn't work I can gather some fertile eggs and you can pick up.

Just curious to where you got them from. I have some Serama in the bater right now too and it doesn't look good for any of them.
