So are barn was full of loose boards, holes and areas that racoons could get in. But we patched them all up with boards, 2x4s and nails. We have a cement floor, but the racoons are starting to dig underneath the boards we nailed and under the cement floor!! By the way we don't have chickens yet(there coming in june but we want to get the barn fixed up meanwhile).

They are tunneling under the cement floor!!! I don't think they can get into the barn part where the chickens will be, because they can't go though the cement. They are digging out garvel/dirt/rocks that are under the cement and there are now HUGE piles of gravel/dirt outside of the barn. Why do you think, are they trying to tunnel through the barn and under the cement? Are they actually trying to get into the barn or are they trying to make a nest or a home? How can I tell they are racoons for sure(I am pretty sure, but I guess it could be something else) However I have seen pawprints and poop. Looks like cat prints and dog poop(not sure if thats it). They are just tunneling eveywhere!!! Through the ground, under the wood we nailed in and under the cement!!!

How can I get them to stop?? Again HOW can I tell they are racoons for sure??

If you don't want to stay up all night with a flashlight to see what is digging, sprinkle a heavy layer of flour around the area they must walk across to get to the digging. Next morning go identify the tracks.

I had a skunk tunneling under my cement floors. So my bet is, it's a skunk. I got rid of it by putting cat poop and very dirty pee soaked cat litter in the hole. It didn't like the cat pee smell I guess...
