My chickens ducks guinea and peafowl have always freeranged since they where big enough. Tonite when I went out to shut them up. Three of my 6 peafowl where not there. They have always went in at nite. Not to there area but the chicken coop. It is of my males that are missing. I searched for 3 hours and could not find them anywhere. I hope they show up in the morning. And nothing has happened to them.

I really do hope they come back...My first male peacock ran off in 2009 and I was soo sad, but since yours have stayed for soo long and know to go in the pen at night, I think there are way better odds that they will come home. Still, as soon as you can try to search a bit for them sometimes they get stupid and don't remember they can just fly back over the fence they flew over to leave your yard or something. Maybe for some reason they decided to go sleep in a tree instead of the pen because they were tired and the tree was closer than the pen, ect. It could be anything. I hope they all return back safely.

There is always hope they will come back home.

I lost my black shoulder hen when it was SO cold last month. She was shivering and I was so worried for her. I thought she flew to the pole barn to roost like normal, but the next morning couldnt find her anywhere. And SO much snow on the ground too.

Looked and looked in the snow, all around, nothing. She came home 4 days later, she must have gotten totally disoriented by the snow when flying and lost her way. I was so so happy to see her.
She has done that to my twice now!

And my India blue boys have done it once when spooked by something back in the summer too. They were gone for a week and then finally showed up at my neighbors.

So I will be sending prayers for yours, if something spooks them they sometimes tend to fly quite far and it sometimes take a bit for them to find their way home.

Well 2 of them returned this afternoon. I think since is was so nice out yesterday they just ventured farther away then normal. The usually stay pretty close. I still have hope the other one will find its way home. I had looked for them for hours today.
