Hi everyone,

My little buff orpington, Belle is molting for the 2nd time this season! Is this normal? She is a very small girl and I am just worried she will get cold. We are getting temps in the 20's during the day and at night. Her coop is insulated, draft free, and dry. I also put a barn blankie up in the corner of her roost and she snuggles up in it at night.

Is there anything else I should be doing for her?

It is possible to keep her in the garage at night till she gets her new feathers in.

Is there a way you can just run a light bulb inside the coop? How big a area? One 100 watt bulb will produce a lot of heat and if it is up high enough from catching mulch on fire but close enough to produce a little heat during the nights.
