I believe our chicken is a roo. pretty darn sure!

Hello all!

Our beautiful (Australorp?) chicken is looking more and more like a rooster.
My husband keeps saying "well he doesn't crow".
Could just be a late bloomer, but our village doesn't allow roosters, so the sooner I know the better.

Not an Australorp, for sure... at least not purebred. As far as the sex of it, looks rooish but I'm not sure.

It was hatched from a school science class, so we are not sure what it is, but it's a cutie

I guess it's not obvious what gender it is?

Okay. Next time I'll keep about 3 to make sure one of them is at least a pullet, and also try the trick about "the chicks that come right up to you are probably a roo"... and the picking it up by the shoulders and see if the legs go up, or stay down.

I'll try all the tests!! lol
