I make animal habitats (reptiles, small mamals etc) out of various peieces of furniture all the time! Whenever I go near a Goodwill or Salvation Army I am always eyeballing potential goodies. One of my favorites is the old console televisions. You gut it and put plexi-glass on the front and it ends up looking like you're watching TV!
Hmmmm, I think I'll make a brooder out of the next one I find.....

Old store showcases are another favorite.
A good one for chickens is an old armoire. The kind with shelves. You open the doors and put roosting poles across in front of the cubbies.

ikea-usa.com They have lots of nice things and are reasonably priced. I was just looking around because I'm getting ideas for my bedroom, but you know us women, we can't help but look and window shop. I found this in the livingroom section of the website.

Shoot! after finding a hen in my flower pot outside yesterday, I've thought about just going to Lowes and buying a bunch of them, they are cheap!

oh, by the way, I have a finished and perfectly good coop too. I'm just looking for any reason to expand and add on or build new! Like I said, I'm certifiable........thanks to ya'll!!!

I do that at the grocery store! "Gee, the chickens would really like this _______!" Nevermind that they can live without it! Spoiled little things!

oh yes, I got in trouble once because I brought home treats for the chickens, but didn't bring any lunch home to my b/f!
