I bought 8 baby chicks, and put them with a new Momma

I have 2 Momma who's chicks hatched last week and the week before I put my new chicks with them, 4 each the silkie with the older chicks took the new ones in no problem I had to move them all in with her because the other Momma chased them out!! Silkie doesn't seem to mind the more the merrier! I hope she'll keep them!!

Well it sounds like your lucky that your silky mom will love them all. If they reject them which is still possible. get lights and 85 for the first week 80 degrees for the second 75 degrees for the 3 rd and 5 less each week until the 8th week and then they are fully feathered and no more heat forever more. Good luck sounds wonderful and fun. Just before summer and perfect timing on the moms part.
