i bought some RIR

I bought some RIR from the feed store, some are a dark reddish color with a dark spot on the ends of their beaks and the others are a redish yellow color with two stripes going down their backs. Are the same breed? is there a red sex link RIR?

so what do adult sex links look like? also are the sex links male or female? if i end up with a dozen roosters im gonna be ticked! I want some brown eggs dang it!

They look like my comets. Girls are med to light brown w/some white here and there.

I bought 3 RIRs and they all look like your stripey one.

after i got them home i just thought they were maybe a day younger and would catch up in color but they havent changed in 5 days.

It looks like you have a mix of RIRs and Red Sex Links. The Red Sex Links with stripes down the backs are pullets if you have any Red Sex Links that are all yellow or mostly yellow they are more likely cockerels. The Red Sex Links will be all white as they mature to hens.

i guess it really doesnt matter since it looks like some are hens, as long as they lay eggs i will be happy.
