I broke my wrist

Earlier this year I broke my wrist and couldn't build my own coop. Our local feed store had a few for sale built by a local maker. It's small but it will do for now. Once I'm 100% again this coop will get a few upgrades and possibly an addition.

Good luck rehabbing your wrist. I broke mine when I was 52 (dominant hand), and it was a YEAR before it was back to 90%. I learned to do a bunch of stuff left handed, like write and brush my teeth.

I'm also 52 and also broke my wrist on my dominant hand. I know what you mean about having to learn to do things with your opposite hand.

Sorry about your wrist. Your coop, while not ideal -- I've certainly seem much worse -- looks pretty sturdy. As you said, you can make modifications once you're completely healed.

At least thats well made and not a cardboard box that the TSC sell for ungodly high prices that denigrate within a year. You will be able to resell it if you decide too for close to what you paid or better. Im 55 had a shreaded tendon repaired in my wrist ( shortened, re-attached, and some other fun stuff found while he was in there ) been 8 months and still cant use my hand properly. Hope your wrist heals fast ( I know bones and tendons are different ) Built my coop as a lean to on the shop but there are many designs you can get ideas from and customize to the size you need as well...thats the key, size matters !
