I BURNED MY GARDEN UP!

I used Miracle Gro, the kind where you connect the contraption to the water hose. I had used this last summer and didn't have any problems, this year just isn't working for me right now.

Thank goodness I can start all over and like everyone says learn from experience.

We have a rather large chicken run and next summer, will use that dirt to fertilize the garden before planting. When my garden is finish producing, I'll let the ladies out to free roam and clean the garden up for me.

spatcher-that's just what my Grandmother always told me. I've used it straight from the coop to the flower pots and beds and not had any problems with it. It never goes to a compost bin.

I used the same thing on my garden and I am not happy with the results!some of my plants have turned a yellowy color rather than the rich healthy green I was counting on. They were healthier before I sprayed them!
I have been adding rabbit poo every few days for the last couple of weeks.

As for hot chicken poo, it probably depends on the amount you are using. If it is a small amount then it will likely be fine but a large amount will most likely burn.

my husband gathers up all the chicken and donkey manure from the winter and piles it in the garden, then tills it in about 2 months before we plant. It works great!!!
We got tomato's like this!!!!

My husband thinks it is the chicken manure!!!
we even had some bigger than this, but this is the one we I took a picture of!
Big advantage to having chickens!!!and other critters!

Chicken manure should never be applied directly to a growing garden. There is nothing wrong with putting it in a few weeks in advance and then planting, but if any fresh manure touches plants, you'll burn them as badly as the original poster burnt their garden with chemical fertilizer.

Compost the pooh for at least four months before using it on a growing garden. But do use that composted manure instead of chemical fertilizers. Feed your soil and your soil will feed your plants.

I feel so bad for you, knowing what I've gone through the last 2 weeks getting mine in. At least you have the resolve to replant. I don't know that I would, or even could!

It's best to fertilize during the winter months and till it in during the same time. This way you won't burn up the garden. Never put fertilizer directly on plants.

I used it on my container plants last summer. I don't use it for indoor plants though just the outdoor ones. I've burnt up stuff with horse manure and rabbit manure before. You have to let it sit first is what it taught me.
