7 chicks in Brooder. All doing well.
1 has decided that ( she - lol) will change the way things are done.
instead of “ Dust Bath” she has been jumping into shallow water dish & wet bathing
flinging water all over herself, just like the big girls outside with dust.
she stays in for 10 min. At a time.
Should I make up mini- dust bath ? Craziness!!!!!!
Best Regards
Craig

Put marbles or clean rocks into the water dish to prevent her from getting wet snd chilled.

you can put a clod of dirt/grass from the run or near the run for them to explore and scratch. This has the added benefit of getting themExposed to the natural things in the dirt where they will live.

if the brooder is indoors, I’d not add a dust bath bc they are already very dusty, and I wouldn’t want to add any extra dust indoors. However, if the are in a garage, shed, barn, then sure, give them a dust bath if you have room in the brooder.

Are you sure it's a chicken? :idunno:lau Just kidding! Funny little thing!
But I would say I would try to avoid them getting wet until they are older and have their adult feathering. Maybe a different waterer or like suggested put marbles or stones in the water. I am pretty certain that eventually it will copy the others and take dust baths.

Well, Caz, took your advice. Let’s see how it goes - so far so good.
Thanks
Craig
