I am only venting. I want to go and look at a incubator but the guy selling it will not be home until late. I usually would not have a problem but I would actually have to be inside their home testing the incubator. I feel a little uncomfortable so I called and asked my sister to go with me. She kept complaining which means she did not want to go with me. It is not like I ask her every day. GEZ.......... Then she said why did I need another incubator, continued to say that she could not believe that I am still raising stinky chickens.

Yeah, I have four sisters. Wish my parents had bought me a puppy instead.

for you

Family can be tough to deal with. Is you sister hesitant because the incubator is far away or possibly she has children that need to be tended to? More than likely she has time constraints that may limit her in helping you. Sometimes even the simplest of favors can be a burdensome on others. Hope it works out for you. PS I also feel you should not go there alone.

I totally understand. She does have a family but her husband just got laid off so he could easily take care of the kids. I have done so many favors for her that it is not even funny. Baby sit, house sit, go take care of the dog when they are out of town and I do not live that close to her but I do it. I rarely ask for a favor. I obviously have some sense left in me because I hear all of these horror stories. And the incubator is not cheap so I would be carrying cash. I told her I would pick her up and all she had to do was just be there, she could stay in the car for all I cared. Then she proceeds to tell me that I do not need it and I said I already made up my mind and that I do. I have one that will need to be serviced and I want a back up.

Next time she ask for a favor, I will give her a taste of her own medicine. No more Mr. Nice guy.

Ask your brother-in-law to go with you. If there are any sorts of safety concerns, a man is always nice to have around. He will also be able to help carry the incubator if it is a large one. Next tmeyou ask sis, tell her you're springing for pizza (or a burger or whatever) afterwards so y'all can have a nice sisterly chit-chat.

Sometimes last minute requests are not easy to accommodate, but ones made with notice can be fit into the schedule better,
