More eggs in the bator as of last night. They are Maran, Maran and Americana mixed, plus she had some black stars..so mixed, but there are some pretty blue, green, light brown, and, very dark eggs...I'm excited..hope I get a couple of Maran hens! Would love to go check the coop this fall and find a beautiful dark brown egg. They are pretty birds too..gentle also..so I hear.
Fun time..hope they hatch now!

I feel your pain, got the same problem, but hey i don't drink ,smoke or any other bad habbits , and i am ploped down in the middle of almost 100 acres with no visable neighbors so why not right???

I do sell mine though, even if i say i am gona keep this or that one with every hatch.LOL

My marans are so sweet. They are at my feet all the time. I remember waiting for my first dark egg, i thought that day would never come and when i did i was so excited, everyone thought i was nuts, sometimes i think they still do. My marans eggs are in lock down now. Wishing you the best.

Zazouse..hope I got that right! That many acres? No fair..I wish. Yep, I would have a lot of chickens for sure.

Bantymama, thank you for the thought of a sweet Maran...I'm hoping to get a couple...do you have the Cuckoo..or Black Copper, or...
The roo of these is either the Americana/Maran mix, or a pure Cuckoo Maran...dark eggs...yes! Americanas are sweet too. Should be some nice chicks coming along.
