I collected a white egg todAY?

i am new to this ,but today one of my rir hens laid a white egg.Has anyone had this happen before and what would happen if i hatched it?????? Just being curios ?

It probably is not pure white, but cream color. That happens sometimes in the laying cycle, eggs become lighter and darker. I have A Splash Orpington that lays Olive Color eggs, so do both of her daughters....... no explanation for that one.

If you have a RIR rooster, you should get a RIR, the color of the shell does not change the breed of the chick, if it is Pure Breed.
