 Last night I decided to try and color my eggs. I have no chickens that lay white eggs and my chickens are laying plenty right now , so I didn't want to buy any just to color. I couldn't believe how pretty they turned out. Most were shades of tan and biege, some were darker and some were whiteMarans and wheaten Marans. The ones that were Marans eggs turned out the darkest but they all took on color real well. I used paste food color and 1 Tbl vinegar to each cup of water. what ya think?

I think so. I used to only put 1 tsp in the Pass egg colors, and now I used 1 Tbl. so maybe that does make a difference.

Gorgeous! I've never seen paste dye in the grocery store, it it one of the speciality store items?

You can usually fid it where cake decorating supplies are sold. I think Wal-mary sells it. Alittle goes a long way and there is a big range of colors.

Those are just beautiful! Now I want to be clear so I can do this next year - you used paste dyes? And you added how much vinegar? My girls are all too young yet - only have one laying, but next Easter my eggs will be the hit of the family party!
