I could use some guidance...

I did intervene in the wee hours of the morning. I could see where one of there beaks was trying to break through so I helped a little- just enough so it could get air. It's resting and breathing so fingers crossed

I couldn't tell how the other one was positioned so I left it. it didn't make it

. I opened it up and it was REALLY big. significantly bigger than the two that already hatched, and it was positioned funny (beak away from the egg cell). Also, all of the veins had large clots. Never seen that before with any chickens I've hatched. So, I'm not sure it would have made it even if I had tried.
There's one more egg in there that was put in a couple of days later, so I'm just sort-of praying over it at this point.
Hoping for healthy baby birdies!

keep us updated....I have eggs in the incubator I'm worried over....a little duckling egg that I opened the air end but not the membrane...can't be sure if it's alive....lost 3 chicks in their shells last weekend and a chick that got in with my dogs yesterday!!! so I need some encouraging stories

The other one is doing great!

I think it's a male, and he's trying to stand and seems really strong. I was so torn about it, but I'm glad I intervened. Sooooo relieved! Thanks so much for the advice and good thoughts. Phew!
