:-( I cracked an egg in the bator

While candling the eggs, seeing great progress with lots of beautiful movement I knocked an egg and it cracked :-(

Not in a good away either. Got a tiny bit of weeping which stopped. Have put wax over the crack.

Will candle again tonight to see if the little one is still alive. We are in day 11.

So upset with myself :-(

Aww sorry to hear that!

Well hopefully your little chick is still growing but if not then its all about learnign what to do and what not to do

sorry to be blunt but is you got weeping then you prob severed the membraine and with that odds are now high against the egs carring on further

It's ok, I know it's not going to pull through. But would rather give it a chance until tonight. If I see no movement and signs of death I will remove him. Just don't want to remove the egg until it's death is confirmed.

Yeah, if you break thru the inner membrane, the chick will not develop. Only if it is a surface crack can the egg be saved. Sorry.
