I have been trying to figure out what to do with my little chicks because they love to scratch, even with a hanging feeder, one in particular, Wilma, always flies up into it scratches all the food out and then sits in the feeder-lol. So, I sat trying to come up with something and then I went to walk past a three tier plant stand that my daughter gave me for Mother's Day and I said, "Eureka, I've got it!!!"
I saw that I could take apart the metal tiers and using a cake pan, I could drill holes into the cake pan, place the metal tier upside down and using wire, wire it through...wahlah, a feeder they can use, stand on, and it serves as a barrier. And it's already reduced Wilma's scratching, she's tried but can't get it to it like she usually does. It worked so well that I put one using a aluminium pie tin in my outside cage for them. And when I move them into their coop, I can hang it.
