I went to TSC today to get pine shavings. I came home with 10 chicks plus extras. Converted old rabbit hutch by installing cardboard around perimeter and bottom. Chicks are 2-3 weeks old. They are outside, covered, and hutch is in same run as my other ladies ( 1 roo, 2 layers, 6 pullets-barely)
When and how do I introduce them to the older ladies and roo? When do i take away the heat lamp? Is it ok for roof be solid when all sides are blocked also? do they need to see daylight?
Thank all of you, in advance.

Also, how do I determine a breed when they are all..yellowish in color? I was told 8 are layers and 2 were meat.
