I did the unthinkable today....

-35 this am not including wind chill-If Dh would have let me I would have done the same but he put heaters in the coops yesterday to take the chill off-it stayed about 20 degrees all night and today

 

[Hollywood Chickens]

when I first got chickens my mother said "no chickens in the house--EVER!" well a few months later one got sick, in the garage for a week, a cold front came the chickens spent the night in the shower, another one got sick and spent a few days in the laundry room (nice and warm there)another a cold front 12 chicks in the family room!! for 2 weeks! and it was my mothers idea each time.

so yeah the chickens are never in the house--unless it is cold, sick, cute...
